Restricted traffic

From August 22 until August 24 the Parliament Palace will be the host of an event long awaited by motorsports fans, Bucharest City Challenge 2008. The race will take place on Natiunilor Unite boulevard, Izvor Street, Calea 13th September and Libertatii Boulevard. The restrictions will begin from August 15 and they will apply to cars and pedestrians also. As a result some traffic limitations will be made on some thoroughfares of the capital.

From August 15 until August 18 one way circulation will be organized on the fallowing thoroughfares: Libertatii Boulevard between Calea 13 Septembrie and Natiunilor Unite Boulevard, between Libertatii Boulevard and Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Street. Izvor Street between Bodan Petriceicu Hasdeu Street and Arsenalului Market, Calea 13 Septembrie between Arsenalului Market and Libertatii Boulevard.

Until August 15, between 22:00 and 06:00, the protective walls of the circuit will be put in place after that from August 15 until August 18 the circulation in the area will occur one way only.

From August 19 until August 26 2008 all traffic will be stopped on the fallowing thoroughfares: Libertatii Boulevard between Spaiul Independentei and Cosbuc Market. Calea 13 Septembrie between Pandurilor Street and Libertatii Boulevard. Izvor Street between Arsenalului Market and Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Street. Natiunilor Unite Boulevard between Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu Street and Splaiul Independentei. Unirii Boulevard between Constitiutiei Market and Splaiul Independentei. Uranus Street between Calea 13 Septembrie and Sabinelor Street. Dr. Staicovici Street between Dr.Pasteur Street and Izvor Street.

From August 27 until September 7 2008, between 20:00 and 06:00, the protective walls of the circuit will be removed, all areas on the road where this action will occur will be marked visually.

The safety of the competitors and the spectators will be maintained by protective concrete walls and wire fences. The protective walls will be located at the edge of sidewalks or green spaces and will be visually marked.

Pedestrians circulation in this period will be permitted except from August 19 until August 26 when circulation in the area is stopped.
