Thousands of horsepower for education

16. August 2008

17 children from Darvari village, Ilfov district and 22 children from Grozavesti village, Dambovita district have been drawing for two days, between 11th and 12th August, their vision about race cars.

"The studio"  was Izvor park and the hour 10 a.m.  was also the grade deserved by the little children for the enthusiasm they displayed in the morning before departing for Bucharest!

For many of them this was the first trip made outside the village they live in. The 39 children are students at the summer workshops Sotron" organized by the ‚"Ovidiu Rom" association.

The drawings made by the children will be on view August 22 through August 24 in the hallway of "People rights" Hall - Parliament Palace - transformed during the Bucharest City Challenge 2008 in a VIP area. The VIP guests of the event will have the chance to buy the children's drawings, the money gathered will be used by the "Ovidiu Rom" association to keep children in school.

Bucharest City Challenge 2008 organizers have invited the 39 children to the event opening on August 22nd, when they will have the opportunity to be close to some of the fastest cars on the planet.

Such initiatives to support social causes during different events are highly appraisable and normal in civilized countries. We hope that in Romania these kinds of actions will become ordinary.
