Last weekend, Hartmut Beyer, President and C.E.O. of Bucharest-Ring s.r.l., visited the fifth round of the FIA GT Championship, the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The classic endurance race at the Grand Prix circuit in the Belgian Ardennes region is not only one of the annual highlights on the calendar of the FIA GT Championship, it was also the last race before the next highlight: the "Bucharest City Challenge".
"The fascination of the GT cars is immense", says Hartmut Beyer, looking at the impressive competition machinery of Maserati, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Corvette. "These are genuine supercars, the cars that little kids dream of, and in the FIA GT Championship, they are in their natural environment, driven on a circuit at race speed!"
In Spa, Beyer met with Stephane Ratel, chairman of the SRO Motorsports Group and organiser of the FIA GT Championship and the British Formula 3 Championship, and SRO's general manager, Patricia Kiefer, to discuss the final details before the Bucharest meeting. "We are all looking forward to Bucharest, it will be a nice event", said Ratel.
