Good attendance for Bucharest City Challenge press conference

The Bucharest Marriott Hotel was the location of the official press conference for the Bucharest City Challenge 2008. During the press conference, attended by no less than seven TV teams and Rumania's leading general and motoring media, many details of the event from August 22 till 24 were announced. The Bucharest City Challenge will feature races of the FIA GT Championship, the British Formula 3 Championship and the Dacia Logan Cup.

"Following the success of our inaugural event last year, we are expecting some 100,000 spectators for this year's edition of the Bucharest City Challenge", said Hartmut Beyer, C.E.O. of Bucharest-Ring srl. Also looking forward to the event is Constantin Niculescu, president of the Automobil Club Romania, the national sporting authority (ASN). "In our role as ASN, we are taking care of all the official matters", said Niculescu.

During the press conference, a special project was announced under the motto "We are looking for driver's organised in co-operation with ProSport". Candidates, who must have had their normal driving licence for at least two years, can register on the website <a href=\\"http://www.prosport.ro\\" target=\\"_new\\">www.prosport.ro</a> from July 14 till August 3. The winner will get a proper race driver's training in Germany and then will be allowed to take part in the Dacia Logan Cup during the Bucharest City Challenge 2008. "We will give a normal driver the opportunity to take part in a race after a good preparation", said Roxana Ciuhulescu, presenter of ProMotor and member of the jury.

Ticket prices for the Bucharest City Challenge 2008 start at 20 RON. Tickets are available from the special ticket sales stand opposite McDonald's at Piata Unirii in the city centre of Bucharest and from all the Volksbank bank offices.
