Alguersuari second F3 winner in Bucharest

After Brendon Hartley received the trophy for the victory in the first Formula 3 race in Bucharest, his Carlin Motorsport team-mate Jaime Alguersuari has in followed his footsteps. The Spaniard took the spoils in the second race from Oliver Turvey and Brendon Hartley.

After the start Oliver Turvey and Brendon Hartley were side by side on the way to the first corner. Turvey, who was inside the corner had to go wide, which forced Hartley on the outside to do the same. That was the chance for Alguersuari to take the lead ahead of Turvey with Harvey third.

On lap eight Max Chilton was overtaken by Sergio Perez, but the Mexican touched the back of Chilton's car. The result was a spin of Perez. Ricardo Teixeira, who was following the two crashed cars, could not avoid the collision and crashed into Perez' Dallara. To allow for the track to be cleaned, the safety car entered the circuit.

At this time the trio in front had developed a gap of over twelve seconds to John Martin on the fourth position. After the restart Alguersuari kept his leading position ahead of Turvey and Hartley. This ranking stayed like this until the finish line.

"I have benefited from the problems of Brendon and Oliver at the start, that gave me the chance to win", Jaime Alguersuari said. "I'm disappointed. I had the speed to win both races, but now I‚'m only third", Hartley analysed. Oliver Turvey was happy. "It is my first time on a street circuit and I have reached two podium finishes. I'm still leading in the championship. It was a really good weekend for me."

Directly behind the Top 3 John Martin spun four laps before the end of the race and gave Esteban Guerrieri fourth place and Mick Devaney P5.
