A class of their own: Second victory for Fässler / Deletraz'
24. August 2008Swiss Marcel Fässler and Jean-Denis Deletraz also won the second race of the FIA GT Championship in the streets of Bucharest. After one hour of racing, they crossed the finish line 9.964 seconds before the second-placed Maserati (no 2) with Miguel Ramos and Alexandre Negrao. German Michael Bartels and his Italian team-mate Andrea Bertolini completed the podium with another Maserati in third. Although the winning Phoenix Carsport Racing team has many reasons to celebrate their victory, they were unlucky minutes before the end of the race. In second position Fabrizio Gollin hit the concrete wall and retired with broken left rear suspension. Andrew Kirkaldy and Rob Bell won the GT2 class with a Ferrari F430 ahead of Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander.
