Driver and business partner

Horst Felbermayr and his son Horst Felbermayr jun. are taking part in the FIA-GT races at the Bucharest Ring as drivers, but they are also important partners concerning the building of the track.

Felbermayr is one of the biggest companies in special transport and lifting technologies and they now have 33 offices in Europe. "In 2006 we founded our subsidiary in Bucharest. One year later we heard that a race event was planned around the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. We have contacted the organisation and now we work for them", explained Horst Felbermayr sen.

Felbermayr was responsible for the transport and the movement of the blocks of concrete, that are positioned around the track. "We needed 600 transports to get all the blocks into the city. Normally they are stored 20 kilometres away from Bucharest."

For the creation of the 3.1 kilometre long track Felbermayr has prepared 20 lifting ramps and forklifts together with five truck-mounted cranes. Some of them are also used during the races for putting the cameras on them. "All this special equipment is located in our Bucharest subsidiary, so we've had the advantage to have it at the right place."

Father and son Felbermayr agree that they like to drive at the Bucharest-Ring. In the qualifying race on Saturday evening Felbermayr jun. together with Marc Lieb finished in 17th position with Felbermayr sen./Richard Lietz directly behind them.
