Phoenix Corvette fastest in pre-qualifying

After having set the best lap time in free practice on Friday, the Phoenix Carsport Racing Corvette with Mike Hezemans and Fabrizio Gollin was again fastest on Saturday morning. With 1:16.462 minutes for the 3.115 km long street circuit, the Dutch/Italian pairing topped the time sheets once again. They improved their own fastest lap time from yesterday by more than 1.5 seconds, because the track temperature in the morning session was not on the peak. With 12.20 minutes remaining, pre-qualifying was red-flagged as track repairs were necessary in one of the chicanes.

The Gigawave Motorsport Aston Martin DB9 with Peter / Simonsen / Thompson secured second place, 0.186 seconds behind Hezemans/Gollin. The street racing course around the Palace of the Parliament seems to be a good place for the Corvettes: Bouchut / Maassen with the no. 3 came third, Fässler / Deletraz ended the session in fourth. The fastest Maserati MC 12 came fifth. Bertolini / Bartels were 1.084 seconds behind the leaders. Kirkaldy / Bell were the fastest duo in GT2, with a laptime of 1:18.996 minutes.
