Phoenix Carsport Racing fastest in free practice

With Hezemans/Gollin at the wheel of the Corvette Z06, German-based team Phoenix Carsport Racing sets the fastest laptime in the first free practice session on the street circuit of Bucharest. The Romanian capital hosts the sixth round of the 2008 FIAGT Championship, with one race each on Saturday and Sunday. Beside the track action,  Romanian Prime Minister Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu visited the circuit on the opening day of the second Bucharest City Challenge.

Mike Hezemans and Fabrizio Gollin needed 1:18.135 minutes for the 3.115 km long circuit around the Palace of the Parliament. The second-placed Aston Martin DB9 of Wendlinger/Sharp was beaten by just 0.170 seconds. While the car no. 6 drove 38 laps, the second-placed team completed a total of 37 laps. Bertolini/Bartels finished the 80 minutes free practice session in third place, 0.229 seconds behind the leaders.
