Quotes after the race - GT1

Quotes from the press conference after the 5th round FIA GT held at the Hungaroring this weekend.

Ryan Sharp - K-plus-K Motorsport Saleen -1st GT1: "It was pretty hot in the car, but that was the same for everyone. The car was perfect. The only issues I had was with the drink bottle and the radio, but apart from that, the car was great. We were up against the No. 1 Maserati, which had a lot of ballast. That helped us."

Karl Wendlinger - K-plus-K Motorsport Saleen - 1st GT1: "It was very hectic. The first stint, Alex missed the braking point before the first corner and then I had some problems with the Luc Alphand Corvette that was swerving. As a result, I came onto the dirty line and I hit Bert Longin. In the end, I had no power steering anymore, no powershift, no radio contact and a fuel alarm, so I already thought it was over, but it turned out all right."

Michael Bartels - Vitaphone Maserati - 2nd GT1: "If you would have told me before the race, I would have laughed. Like Andrea said, we did a lot of work yesterday to find the best possible set-up with our 80 kilograms of ballast. Andrea and myself have so much experience in carrying the car home and it worked. We come back here with a strong result after a weekend at Spa which was not so good. For Portimao, we now have 100 kilograms on board. Unfortunately, our other car didn't make it to the finish. I was very happy to see the full grandstands up to the first corner. After losing the Bucharest race, this was very good. The tendency to give people free access is working!"

Andrea Bertolini - Vitaphone Maserati - 2nd GT1: "Second place is like victory for us considering the success ballast we have in the car. The key to this success is the work we did yesterday already. At the start, it was really exciting, there were eight cars within two, three second. After the crash with Alex and Karl, I was second. We scored really important points, thanks to the team who did a lot of work yesterday and this morning."

Alex Pier Guidi - Vitaphone Maserati - 3rd GT1: "Coming back in the championship like this is very good. I hope for an even better result in Portimao. Towards the end, I had bad vibrations on the front tyres, the car was almost undriveable. Before that, the car was very good."

Matteo Bobbi - Vitaphone Maserati - 3rd GT1: "My stint was pretty good. I set some competitive lap times. My main target was to save the tyres and I am really happy that we made it into the podium."

Bas Leinders - Marc VDS Racing Ford - 1st 2010 GT1: "It was quite difficult. Renaud had quite a good start, but we lost 40 seconds during the pit stop because the wheel nut got stuck with the wheel gun. We had some oversteer and that became worse as the track got more grip. We have to find a way to compensate this time loss."

Renaud Kuppens - Marc VDS Racing Ford - 1st 2010 GT1: "It was a very difficult weekend. Yesterday, we had a lot of problems with the powershift. We had too much oversteer in the race and that wasn't very funny."
