Five minutes into the session, Luke Hines came off the track with his Full Speed Racing Team's Saleen S7. His car was stuck in the gravel trap at turn 8 for a while, but was pulled out by the marshals, so that the British former go-kart ace was able continue. Brixia Racing's Luigi Lucchini had some difficulties as well, spinning twice in the final stages of the session.
The fastest time in the GT2 category was set by Alvaro Barba, who reached a time of 1:48.578 minutes with the AF Corse Ferrari. This saw the Spaniard ahead of Andrew Kirkaldy, Matteo Malucelli and Gimmi Bruni, Ferrari drivers locking out the first four places in GT2.
